MEET THE HAIR PIONEERS
Antonella Tosti is an Italian physician and scientist with major contributions in the field of dermatology, including the development of dermatoscopy for the diagnosis and care of hair diseases. She is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Cutaneous Appendage Disorders, a medical journal dedicated to hair and other skin appendages, and a regional editor of the International Journal of Trichology. She is the Frederic Brandt Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Lidia Rudnicka is the chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Medical University of Warsaw.
Dr. Bessam Farjo is the Founding Director and Hair Restoration Surgeon at Farjo Hair Institute, graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS). Founding member and President of the British Association for Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS) and past president of the ISHRS Co-founder and Director of the International Trichology Congress (ITC). Dr Nilofer Farjo is also a hair transplant surgeon based in Manchester, with vast expertise in transplants, She is a founding director of Farjo Hair Institute, a specialist hair loss treatment centre in both Harley Street, London and Manchester. She is the current President of the American-based International Society of Hair Restoration. Both Drs Farjo are certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.
Dr. Jerry Shapiro is one of the most experienced dermatologists in the world and has specialized in treating hair disorders for the past 25 years. He is the first dermatologist in the world to limit his practice exclusively to both medical hair and scalp disorders as well as hair transplant surgery.
Dr. Ramon Grimalt, Dermatologist and MD, has taught students at several universities including the Medical School of the University of Barcelona, AQU and the International University of Catalonia (UIC) as Coordinating Professor of Dermatology. Organizer of the first trichology conference that was held recently in Barcelona.
